Preparing to Preach

"Paul's words should echo and reecho through the soul of the pastor who prepares to preach and teach that Word as a faithful servant of Christ: "Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ" (Gal 1:10). And behind the words of Paul are those of the Lord to Isaiah: "This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word" (Isa 66:2)."
